Hey guys, hope all you druids have been busy kicking ass and taking names! I realized in the raid yesterday that there are a lot of new faces I don't know (and some older ones I need to know better), so I thought we should all introduce ourselves on here. So, below include:
1. Character name, spec, profession
2. Your favorite experience as a druid so far
3. An awesome/crazy/funny/interesting story, either from real life or in game.
Pay special attention to #3, since I will be giving a prize to whoever gives us the best story! (I'm not eligible). What's the prize , you ask? You'll have to wait and see...
For me:
1. Mortisimo, resto (13/0/38), skinning/tribal LW
2. Definitely our first downing of Ony (28-man). I was one of the few healers that survived the whole fight, which was epic, and it really showed me the importance of mana regen and coming properly prepared (mana pots, dark runes, consumables, etc.) for druids.
3. The worst date I ever went on, and the reason I have a minor fear of rats now, happened while I was living in China in 2011. Me and this girl, Lexi, had gone out on a few dates that had gone very well. On this date, everything was great, so we went back to her place. She lived in a decidedly run-down part of town with her grandparents. When we entered, she told me "Be careful of the rats." I responded, "Oh cool, you have pet rats?" She said, "No, we just have rats." At that moment there was an ominous scurrying in the corner, though at the time I wasn't scared of rats so I didn't think too much of it. Anyways, we end up moving to the couch, things start getting hot and heavy and I feel her hand moving up my leg. But it was a little weird because she was moving weirdly and really digging her claws in. So I looked down and see a massive (like the size of ahorse, as I remember it) crawling up my leg.
I'd like to say here that I calmly removed the rat, acting like a brave man and impressing the shit out of her. But I didn't. I freaked the fuck out because, holy fucking shit, there was a rat on my leg. I immediately started flailing my arms and legs and jumped up on the coach. I managed to dislodge the rat and it flew across the room, hit the wall and fell behind their TV. The whole time I was freaking out, Lexi was trying to tell me something that I couldn't comprehend. Finally I calmed enough to look at her and I see she's holding her face and blood is streaming out from between her fingers. Somehow in the flailing I had managed to smack her right in the nose.
And that's when her grandparents walked in.
I can only imagine what they must've thought upon walking in on this scene. Two elderly Chinese people, woken up after midnight by a ridiculous commotion in their house, just to discover a huge white guy standing on their couch, screaming like a little girl, while their granddaughter bleeds out from her nose.
Needless to say, I was not welcome back in that house and Lexi and I stopped dating. I also developed a healthy fear of rats.
